The effect of therapeutic exercise of pelvic floor muscles

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of therapeutic exercise of pelvic floor muscles on the function of the lower part of the urinary tract in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). 37 patients (11 men and 26 women) with a definite diagnosis of MS from the head and foot departments of the hospital. of Northern Ireland were included in the study. The participants in the study were subjected to exercise therapy for 9 weeks along with biofeedback therapy (electromyography type). The measurement criteria included manual assessments and electromyography biofeedback of the pelvic floor muscles, the number of cases of urine leakage. (by means of specialized forms given to the patient), the amount of urine leakage (test pad), urofloumetry and specialized questionnaires, as well as scoring the degree of satisfaction with the symptoms by the patient. The results of this study show improvement in the strength and endurance of the pelvic floor muscles. And the reduction of urinary symptoms in patients with MS was followed by exercise therapy and biofeedback therapy. The general result of this study shows that the 9-week training program of pelvic floor muscles improved the function of these muscles and the symptoms related to dysfunction. It reduces the lower part of the urinary tract and increases the quality of life of these patients.
